08-04-2009 - Website Changes
Many months back we shut down operation. We left the website up since it didn't cost too much for hosting and we wanted to still help people. We added the free option link for people to easily access the information. It's been amusing to watch how people will come to the landing page, but never click through to see the actual recovery information. I'm sure there are some people that don't recognize the address and then just leave. Whatever the case, it still amazes me that the "Too good to be true" thought still is present when the information is free. Just a click away. The other part of me can understand somewhat though. Everywhere you turn there is someone peddling a scam. Whether it is Prince Albert of Nigeria or cheap meds. Over 1/2 of our records came from the FHA database. Please check your record there also if you have any reservations. If for some reason you can't find any lost money for yourself, go to www.missingmoney.com. They have compiled most of the state databases. I have been able to find money there for more people then anywhere else. Hopefully you find something to help curb the pain of a tight budget.
03-03-2009 - County Directory
We did an internal audit recently. We noticed that some people had paid for the information, but never fully collected. One of the stumbling blocks was that on certain accounts a copy of a deed was needed. In our effort to become to the best Heirfinder business, we decided to provide the County Directory tool free for everyone. It is even available to non-customers. You can either select the state and county or just enter a zipcode of a property. The results are that you have the phone number and address of the government agency that can provide a copy of a deed.
03-03-2009 - Link Back Program
We had noticed that some data might not be worth purchasing, but was still of value to someone. We have provided a Link Back Program for those situations. This option appears at the bottom of a record after viewing the full record, but only if the Link Back option is available. What is the Link Back Program you might ask? Bascially, you provide a URL with a specific link back to our website. In return we give you the information for free. If you still are scratching your head, go ahead and check out the account with Reginald B Moore
02-06-2009 - Virginia B Simth
I just saw this database entry for Virginia B Simth for $4447.19. At first it looked like a typo. Simth? Who in the US has the lastname Simth? Well, it appears there are roughly 100 that come up on a search. Now whether or not those are also also typo's is a good question. I did a search for Virgina B Smith in Massachusetts and there appears to be one. It's probably her.
02-05-2009 - Largest Amount - Blas Lujan
We decided to look through our database to see what the highest amount unclaimed is. Blas Lujan of Califorina is the lucky winner at $6,369.02. I was able to locate him in one of the address databases we use. I'm almost positive that he has been approached by other tracers. I am going to personally write him a hand written letter to see if we can even get him to respond. When I get any information back, I'll post it here on the blog for your viewing pleasure.
